Mierra v. Shaquille
Are opening debate was a great one! This debate was at least 2 weeks coming. Both speakers were eloquent in their delivery and kept each other on their toes. With 3 arguments, Mierra started off with the advantage, however, throughout the debate Shaquille slowly was able to punch holes in Mierra's arguments. This debate was so close that it came down to a technicality in which Mierra presented more arguments in which one was not contested strongly enough in the Shaquille's rebuttal. Strong rebuttals are extremely important. Kudos to both debaters today for the served as wonderful models for the rest of the week. Make speeches flow, create a theme such as "if it is not broken, don't try to fix" (Shaquille)

like you said it was a close debate both stated facts and notes on their subjects. Mierra was in titled to win because her arguments were planed out and when she was crossed him she pulled everything a part and made hiim explain it .

it was close but mierra was able to take shaquille out his game. but her cross examine could have been way better.
ReplyDeleteShaq v. Mierra- I thought that it was an incredible argument. I thought that Shaq could of used more evidence/support in his argument. Mierra was great. She knew what she was doing and used very good evidence. I thought that this was a close debate. Good job to the both of them.

i honestly thought Shaquille was going to win because because he is one of our top debater and he knows how to provide evidence. but Mierra was amazing are like her opening statement. good jobs i am just glad they finally debated because they has been waiting for that moment so long. congratulation guys.
ReplyDeleteI think this debate was real tense because they went first with the cameras and all, they both carried theirselves really well, and they both are great debaters, its amazing how Mierra stayed focus on her reasons why slavery should of been abolished and the quotes Shaq used was banging hahaha. I loved this debate. Congrats Mierra.
ReplyDeleteI feel that when Shaquille went up he was well prepared but he had nothing on Mierra and honestly to say I was glad to see these to great debaters go head to head Shaquille pointed out great facts but like I said Mierra was the better debater Congratulations to Mierra on her win
ReplyDeleteI think both debaters did great!!! Mierra and Shaquille are great debaters and are on the same level in debating. I think Mierra deserved that win because Shaquille could have attacked her a liitle more but he was contemplating too much on defeating Mierra and not just making sure he's focused on the question and thinking about it more and how he can attack Mierra's questions.
ReplyDeleteThis was the most anticipated debate and I'm soooooooo glad it's over. Shaq you can take this anyway you want... I commend you for being confident in yourself... but karma comes back 10 fold when you act the way you did!!!!!!!

ReplyDeletethis was the best debate. i was really looking foward to this one. shaquille provided excellent information and was able to tear apart many of mierra's arguement. mierra did ok. i believe shaquille should of one because his cross examination was better and so was his rebuttal. congradulations mierra and good job shaquille for your great debate

Yess my cross could've been waayyy better but I had nothing else to ask! I also think that you shouldve spent more time researching your person instead of mine (maybe you wouldve won)!
ReplyDeletelol!!! mierra is so funny. srh honestly should of one becuase of his great debating skills and great ability to keep mierra on her feet and worried. mierra was sweating during the debate and was afraid that she was going to lose. kudos to mrs gold for believing in shaquille but thumbs down for brasof for voting for mierra. and i can attack you,harriet tubman, tupac,and your whole entire life. congradualtion srh for going up there and giving it your all. i shot the sheriff, but wait til i shoot mierra down, down, shoot, mierra down srh baby
