Briana v. Kris
We all have been waiting for this one. So much hype, so much anticipation. The audience wasn't disappointed. Both debaters brought complete arguments. Briana wrote one of the best abolitionist argument I've heard in a long time. Briana also was able to control the cross examination. On the other hand, Kris pushed the theory of natural selection which Briana later challenged as just an assumption (all theories that is). This was a very hard debate to score and decide on. It almost came down to decorum issues and who was more convincing: are there real rights or are the subjective?

What a debate. This was a tough one. Bothe Kris and Briana had strong arguments and used good evidence to support that. There's really nothing that I can correct on except that there shouldn't of been that much tension betwen the two of them and just put a little of that aside. But otherwise, it was a really good debtae. Jazmine Babuch
ReplyDeletethis was a great debate i think it was the best so far. both girls did good. there openings was strong and there arguments were strong.
ReplyDeleteI thing both their arguments were great, but they spoke a little too fast especially Kris. It really came down to the rebuttal and Kris took that home and made a touch down!! YEAH KRIS!!!!!!!!!!!:)
ReplyDeletehah, I spoke quickly because I had so much to say. Either way, Briana did a great job and honestly, it wasn't what I expected. She's a strong debater and knew what she was talking about; she even boxed me in during the cross examination. I enjoyed the debate; would definitely do it again, slash the tension though.
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of hype about this debate, and for good reason. They both definitely spoke loud enough, aha. But, there shouldn't have been so much tension. Either way, it was a great debate. Congrats Kris.
ReplyDeleteThe b=debate was very interesting. It was anxious to see who would win and it seemed to me that they both had very great arguments. Both debaters did a very good job stating their arguments and showed everybody how it dont.

This was the best debate out of all that i heard so far! They brought a lot to the table! They made some good points that I Might even may steal and use it in my debates! Just playing but these two did a good job and i believe they would be good debators!

ReplyDeleteWell I thought they both did great but -to me- it was a definite tie. One of the greatest debates I've seen so far and if the other debaters have that kind of energy and talent then these debates should become very interesting..........

WOW... This debate was the best debate that happened, in my opinion. They both stated their points and they were arguing great. I think it was a tie. I wouldn't known who to pick between these two. Both of the debaters did great.. Congrats kris!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis debate was ok but the debaters couldn't really be heard if they would have talked louder they everyone would have been able to hear them.. I think they could have done way better
ReplyDeletethis was the funniest debate ever. i knew cris was going to go up there and give it her all, her ripping up the declaration of independence was an excellent example of how it meant nothing. brianna should of controlled her comments and attitude a bit more. i'm glad cris won
ReplyDeleteThe debate had alot of tension only because alot of people chose sides.I think that Me and kris are* the best debaters in the ningth grade.Kris was definitley a challenge for me and i learned alot from this debate.
ReplyDeletei believe that brianna should have won she was able to counter everything kris said because her information was based on a theroy and she was able to show proof. She was also showing how peolpe died for the the rights are coutry was found on this is why i think brianna won but i also think this was the best debate so far
ReplyDeleteboth of you did a good job but kris really snapped when she was yelling and ripped the paper. Kris could have slowed down and i knew she would have alot of evidence but she still could have slowed down.

ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to both! This was one debate that I would have like to see on tape. Both Briana and Kris had strong points and CX. They both need to take DECORUM into consideration! one of the BEST debates!

ReplyDeleteBoth debaters had very well-written arguements. There was never a dull moment during this debate. The opening statements were amazing, but I wish we could have left the emotions off the podiums. Both people had little time for their CX's because a tiny lack of decorum. All in all, it was the best debate in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteBEST DEBATE SO FAR ! in the first perid class ( brasof vs. gold ) both stated great speeches and i through it was a fair choice .

Best debate, I enjoyed it a lot. Strong debaters had a good debate. Kris spoke fast, but I understood her points clearly.

I thought that Kris talked really really really fast but I know she had ALOT to read..... Also briana did a grat job too she had 3 great points and my opion she controlled the cx........ But after all it was a great dabate
